Description

Photograph album labelled 'Houses: Large' containing 72 black and white prints of various different large private houses. These include images of the exterior and interior of Warwick Hall at Wetheral, rural police housing at Dalston designed by County Architect, John H. Haughan, photographs dating from 1953 of alterations and repairs to Rose Castle, the Bishop of Carlisle's residence, including details showing masons at work, conversion of outbuildings, interior views of staircase, great drawing room and private chapel, the building of a house for the Price family at 'Rhiwas', Bala, designed by Clough Williams-Ellis, exterior and interior views of house for D. V. Damerell at Scotby and views of Workington Hall in Cumberland (1974).
