Photograph album labelled 'Housing : Easiform' containing 84 black and white prints of various different housing schemes built using the 'Easiform' method at Woolwich (1926), Gloucester (1957), Basingstoke (1954), Gosport (1926), Abedere (1954), Shrewsbury (1921), Hereford, Pyle, Bridgwater (1946), Plymouth (1924,1950) and Tottenham (1926). Also included are details showing concrete pouring at Hastings in 1949, the official opening at Elmsgrove Road Estate, Harrow on 24 August 1946, details of flat roof at Burnell Gardens, December 1947, of clinker aggregate being tested in laboratory, the formwork in factory warehouse, view of Easiform house in exhibition - possibly the Wembley British Empire Exhibition of 1924 - and views of a Roman mosaic excavated during construction of housing in Bristol, the official opening of 50 houses at Patchway by Minister of Health on 7 September 1946, view of old house being demolished and of family moving into Patchway and views of unidentified housing construction and children playing in front of newly built houses.
'Easiform' was a method of in situ pre-cast concrete construction which John Laing and Son Ltd developed from 1919 onwards.
