Description

Photograph album labelled 'Oil Refineries' containing 73 black and white prints documenting work at Coryton, Shell Haven and Milford Haven oil refineries. The majority of the prints show the construction of a fertiliser plant at Shell Haven for Shell Chemical Company (1954 - 1960) and include details of butane storage spheres, bitumen loading plant, low pressure gas bottling plant, 'Nitra - shell' storage building roof and scale model of plant. Also included are images of neighbouring Coryton Oil Refinery (1969 - 1971) showing general views of Mobil bulk terminal and details showing construction of tank farm, road loading islands, white oil pumps and fireproofing to structural steelwork.
