Description

Photograph album containing 64 black and white prints showing various parts of the construction of Portishead 'B' Power Station including views of flue bridge no 12, north west corner of boiler house showing bricklaying, auxiliary boiler house, brickwork inside hopper of chimney, floor construction inside power house, foam proportioner house, MT garage, oil storage area, boiler house roof, turbine structures and flue structures.

Portishead's original power station was built between 1926 and 1929. It became known as power station 'A' when work began on constructing an adjacent power station - Portishead 'B' - after the Second World War.
