Description

Photograph album labelled 'Reservoirs and Pumping Stations' containing 73 black and white prints showing various different reservoir and pumping station projects.

Included are images showing the construction and inauguration of Stainburn reservoir (1958); views of construction and of completed Fawley reservoir (1954 - 1955); photographs showing construction of Windscale reservoir near Workington and of Uldale reservoir (1949-1951). The latter was originally built by John Laing and Sons in 1904 and is now known as Chapelhouse Reservoir. Also included are images showing the construction of a pumphouse for Summer Grove reservoir including details of shuttering for roof and interior of reservoir chamber (1952) and photographs of Littleton Pumping Station under construction and completed including interior details of concrete coal bunkers (1924 - 1933).
