Description

Photograph album containing 59 black and white prints showing the construction of new girls' boarding school, library block, practical block, houses 1, 2 and 3, junior classroom block, sanatorium, Hope Morley House and headmasters' housing for the Royal Russell School. Also included are views showing topping out ceremony on 13 July 1961 and a photograph of the architectural model.

The new buildings were built using 'Laingspan' construction - a flexible modular system of frame building. The buildings were principally designed by architect, Johnson-Marshall of RMJM (Robert Matthew and Johnson-Marshall) architects.
