Description

Photograph album containing 105 black and white prints showing the construction of early examples of 'Easiform' housing at Newcastle, Wellington, Carlilse, Darlington and at Portfields, Ledbury and Ross Road in Hereford. 'Easiform' was a method of constructing housing using pre-cast concrete slabs cast on site and was developed from 1919 onwards. Also included are images of 'Easiform' staff cottages for Cumberland and Westmoreland Mental Hospital, housing and a police headquarters for the First World War Gretna township, sentinel housing scheme at Shrewsbury, housing at Kenfig Hill and at Penistone, interior and exterior views of Wesleyan Central Hall at Tonypandy, Managers' Houses at Bryn for Messsrs Baldwins Ltd, Carlisle Electric Lighting Station, Carlisle Gas Works, Lingfield Park Grandstand, Cumberland and Westmoreland War Memorial, shop front for Clark Bros. in Carlisle, Milford Haven Ice Factory, Littleton Pumping Station and Rhoose Cement Works.
