Photograph album, labelled 'No. 9', containing 58 black and white prints showing the construction of the 'new' Bank of England. Between 1925 and 1939 the 'Old Bank' was demolished and a new building designed by Sir Herbert Baker was constructed on the same site in Threadneedle Street, incorporating elements from Sir John Soane's old Bank of England. The album contains detailed views of decorative stonework Garden Court and Lothbury elevations; water coolers and storage tanks on the roof and demolition of the north portion of the site.
Laing Construction took over the London firm of Holloways in 1964. It is presumed that the photograph album was acquired at this point.
