Description

128 Black and white prints mounted on loose album pages showing the construction of the 'London - Yorkshire Motorway', now the M1.

Subjects include aerial views, machinery, service areas and road vehicles, and areas featured include Dunstable, Toddington, an area near Upper Heyford, The Ouse Viaduct and Luton.

There are also photographs showing the Inauguration Day ceremony attended by Harold Watkinson, then Minister of Transport.
