Description

162 black and white prints mounted on loose album pages showing the construction of the 'London - Yorkshire Motorway', now the M1.

The prints include aerial views of a two level junction near Broughton in Buckinghamshire, Luton, a stretch of motorway between the Watford Gap and Dunchurch, work being carried out to reinforce railway lines and the Ouse Viaduct. Other views include various machinery and visits to the site.
