Description

Folder 12 contains 152 colour slides and photographic positives relating to the people and structures of Second World War sites. The contents include: RAF Martlesham Heath, Suffolk; RAF Duxford, Cambridgeshire; Chartwell, Kent; copies of newspaper pages dating from the Second World War; copies of Second World War posters; illustrations from a children's book showing a Second World War fighter plane; details of Second World War aircraft; Second World War illustrations; Madingley American Cemetery, Cambridgeshire; High Street, Lavenham; London scenes including wartime bomb damage and a series of Second World War slides from the Imperial War Museums collection including the wreck of a German J-52 plane, a Hurricane aeroplane in the desert war and St Paul's Cathedral seen amongst wartime bomb damage. A selection of the slides has been catalogued to item level.
