205 drawings principally covering the part of the site known as Clifford's Tower and the motte it occupies, but also including the medieval curtain wall and bastions of York Castle as well as the court and prison buildings within or on the site of the medieval curtain wall.
There are site plans; elevations showing movement in the fabric - some hand-coloured; works to underpin and consolidate the southeast part of the tower; works on the wall walk and railings; electrical services diagrams and plans; elevations showing stone replacement and a series of record drawings of the stonework of the castle, including a photogrammetric survey of the interior south lobe of the tower, and a complete photogrammetric survey of the interior and exterior faces of the tower. Additional plans added are mainly concerning the construction of a ticket office shop, museum and the provision of modern amenities to the site.
