Description

316 sheets relating to Castle Rising Castle, ranging in date from 1965 to 1989. The sheets include maps, plans, sections, elevations, surveys and details of the site.

There 210 sheets of excavation plans and drawings recording and interpreting the excavations that took place at the castle between 1970 and 1976, created by an unknown organisation or contractor. There is a series of thirteen measured drawing predominantly concerning the castle keep, created by the Ministry of Public Buildings and Works between September 1968 and July 1969.

Twelve sheets of survey drawings are also included from a survey of the castle that took place in 1975, consisting of seven topographic survey sheets showing the castle and surrounding area at different scales, created by Central Survey DCED, and five sheets of photogrammetric elevations of the castle keep, created by Plowman, Craven and Associates.

There are also a number of drawings from the late 1980s relating to the design of a new ticket office and shop at the castle. A series of thirteen sheets created by various organisations relates to the power supply, lighting and heating to the office and shop, and a series of eight drawings created by 4f Design Company show designs for the fittings to be installed in the shop.
