Description

A series of 141 sheets relating to the survey, maintenance and presentation of Etal Castle, created by a number of organisations and individuals between 1973 and 2010.

A series of twenty-two sheets form a rectified photographic survey and measured survey of Etal Castle's Gatehouse and Tower House, created between May and August 1976, largely by Plowman Craven and Associates.

Fifteen sheets relate to the survey and renovation of a stone spiral staircase in the Great Tower at Etal Castle. The sheets were created in March and April 1986 by an unidentified individual or organisation, and were likely to have been created for the HBMCE.

There is a large series of fifty sheets of photogrammetric survey elevations of the Great Tower, Gatehouse and south curtain wall at Etal Castle, created in 1986 and 1987.

There are also a number of sheets from the early 1990s relating to the conversion of the former Presbyterian Chapel near the castle into a museum and shop.
