Description

803 drawings ranging from 1873 to 2010. Many are the plans, elevations and section drawings (including copies) by J A Reeve of the conventual church and the buildings in the surrounding area.

During the early twentieth-century many more plans, elevations and sections of the extant features at Fountains Abbey were produced, many relating to proposed restoration of parts of the site.

From the late twentieth-century there are surveys of the mill, wool barn and Huby's tower; also plans, sections, elevations and perspective views of a proposed visitor centre, and archaeological excavation drawings of the church and cloisters including trenches and submerged features. These latter have been used for the production of reconstructive drawings of the site and to show repairs.

There is a copy of a report from 1985 relating to works carried out to the cellarium roof area, and a set of copied sheets of photographs from the mid-1980s showing restoration work.

The most recent drawings are survey sheets produced in 2010.
