The 423 drawings of Lullingstone Villa range in date from 1949 to 2008.
The earliest drawing is produced from the original excavation drawings from the 1949 -1961 excavations, and there is also an early reconstruction drawing of two phases of the villa.
Most of the drawings from the late 1950s and early 1960s are Ministry of Works drawings of designs and revisions for a new covering building for the excavated area. There are also some general site and services surveys and a few reconstruction drawings from the 1950s and early 1960s.
There is one batch of thirty-nine drawings by the Ministry of Works from the late 1950s which is entirely made up of sketches and designs for the new covering building. There are also five Ministry of Works site survey and design drawings for new buildings from the late 1950s and early 1960s which are grouped together in a separate folder.
The Ministry of Works produced eight drawings in 1961 detailing designs for the entrance hall for the covering building. Between May 1961 and March 1962, the Ministry of Works designed the foundations for the new covering building, resulting in twelve drawings, and in the summer of 1961 they produced nine design drawings for the timber components of the covering building.
There are also designs for display fittings for the museum made by the Ministry of Works in 1962 and seven design drawings for the car park and public conveniences by the same author that year. The Ministry of Public Buildings and Works carried the project over from the Ministry of Works in 1962, and it is they who are presumably responsible for the five drawings of bridges over the well from June 1963. There are a number of other sheets relating to construction and maintenance of the covering building between 1963 and the late 1990s.
There are two drawings by the Ministry of Public Buildings and Works from 1966 for a car park extension.
There are ninety-four drawings from the 1950s through to the 1970s for the various publications on the villa excavations, including reconstruction drawings, sixty-six of these featured in the 1979 excavation report.
In 1974 the Department of the Environment created a new plan of the villa for display which resulted in nine drawings.
From the 1970s onwards there are drawings relating to a small extension, minor refurbishments and new exhibitions, which were created by the Department of the Environment and English Heritage.
In 1987 English Heritage commissioned an EDM survey of the site which produced five drawings, and in 2006 they commissioned another survey of the buildings and site resulting in six drawings.
