Description

The 265 drawings of Muchelney Abbey, Somerset date from 1904 to the year 2011. There are twenty-five oversized drawings.

The earliest drawing is a copy of a 1904 Ordnance Survey map. In 1929 the Office of Works produced seven drawings for the restoration of stonework in the cloister wall of the abbot's lodging. At some time around 1990 English Heritage commissioned TSG survey services to produce eight horizontal profile drawings of the abbot's lodging.

In 1987 English Heritage commissioned Simmons Survey Partnership to produce an eleven drawing survey of the site.

Atkins AMC made a seven drawing survey of the barns at Abbey Farm for English Heritage in 1991. At some point after 1991 English Heritage and an unknown creator made nineteen drawings showing repairs made to the abbot's lodging.

There are ten drawings of the Almonry and Abbey barns made by C.J. Bond from 1991 and 1992. English Heritage made a five drawing survey of the old barn in 1992. TSG Survey Services made five photogrammetric survey drawings of the abbot's lodging for English Heritage in 1992 and 1993.

There is a series of six labelled sheets showing ground-floor plans and first-floor plans of parts of the Abbot's Lodging at Muchelney Abbey, dating to between circa 1980 and circa 1995 and by an unknown creator.

There is a series of eight survey plans of parts of the ground-floor and first-floor of the Abbot's Lodgings at Muchelney Abbey. The survey was carried out by Simmons Surveys on behalf of English Heritage in July 1992. The sheets are intended to be viewed together to form larger plans of the entire building.

English Heritage made a ten drawing survey of plans of the abbot's lodging in 1998, with three additional sheets showing corrections needed on the drawings. In 1998 and 1999 English Heritage commissioned Selwood and Duncan, Frome, Somerset to produce sixteen section and elevation drawings of the Abbot's Lodging. In 1999 Selwood and Duncan made a further six drawings of the abbot's lodging showing repairs.

There is a four drawing survey of the reredorter made by English Heritage in 2000, with a further four drawings showing repairs made. Selwood and Duncan made another nine drawings of the abbot's lodging and reredorter for English Heritage in 2000. In 2001 Selwood and Duncan produced thirty-eight drawings of surveys of the abbey made between 1987 and 2000. Most recently, there is a 2011 CAD version of a 1987 topographic survey of the site.
