Description

Seventy-five sheets of drawings of Penrith Castle, ranging in date from the early to the late twentieth century.

There are a number of plans, sections, elevations and details of the castle dating from the early twentieth century, and several drawings showing land to be transferred to H M Commissioners of Works, from July 1920.

There are also several drawings relating to the new war memorial in the castle grounds, and the new entrance to the grounds; these date from the early twentieth century.

There are several publication drawings consisting of plans of the site with keys to show the dates of construction of various parts, dating from the mid twentieth century.

There are two topographic surveys of the site; one, digitally produced, dates from June 1987, and the other, which is hand-drawn, from the late twentieth century.
