Description

208 sheets relating to Rufford Abbey dating from 1949 to 1995. Most are surveys of the surviving buildings in plan, elevation and section. The earliest was prepared by David E. Nye & Partners in 1949. There are a large group of drawings prepared by Scorer & Pilling Architects (latterly Pilling & Co.) between 1987 and 1989 which provide a site-wide buildings survey, and general and detailed proposals for repairs and maintenance.

Several sheets produced from 1959 and through the 1960s relate to results of excavations on the site. Other smaller groups show schemes for rainwater dispersal (produced in 1963) and scaffolding (1967), and there are structural, topographic and photogrammetric surveys produced between 1977 and 1980.

There is also a sequence of drawings relating to lightning protection and electrical services, produced by Michael A. Lenihan & Associates between 1988 and 1990.
