220 sheets relating to the maintenance and representation of Stott Park Bobbin Mill, ranging in creation date from August 1975 to August 2011. The sheets include maps, sketches, measured plans, sections, sectional elevations and elevations, printed promotional material, rectified photography, topographic survey plans and photogrammetric surveys.
The majority of the sheets originate from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s and are concerned with the conversion of the industrial site to a working visitor attraction. There is a series of twenty-two sheets of measured drawings and rectified photographs created in August 1975 which form an early survey of the mill's buildings, with a further nine sheets of plans and topographic survey plans created by Plowman Craven and Associates in October and November 1977.
Early repair works to be carried out at the site are detailed in a series of six sheets created by the Department of the Environment in November 1977 and August 1978. A much larger series of forty-four sheets created between July 1978 and June 1980 by Gill Dockray Rhodes and Moore, Chartered Architects, outline design schemes for the renovations and representation of the mill.
There are two series of drawings detailing the installation of electrical services at the site. The first is a series of ten sheets created between January 1981 and November 1982 by R W Gregory and Partners on behalf of Gill, Dockray, Moore and Partners, Chartered Architects. The second is a series of seven sheets showing the electrical services as installed at the mill, created in September 1984 by the Department of the Environment.
A group of fourteen sheets show drawings of machinery from the mill and detail their maintenance and safety alterations. The drawings in this series were all created by Jeff Nicholls in January 1981 and October 1984.
There are two series of drawings outlining the fire protection systems at the mill. The first is a series of ten sheets created in November 1981 by HOW Group Fire Protection Limited and the second is a series of five sheets forming a survey of the system in December 1997, created by Abbey Hanson Rowe Land Surveying on behalf of English Heritage.
Lastly, there is a series of twenty-five sheets surveyed and created between January and August 2011 by the Greenhatch Group on behalf of English Heritage's Metric Survey Team. The series forms a detailed survey of the buildings on the site and includes eighteen sheets of measured survey drawings, five sheets of rectified photographic elevations and two sheets of photogrammetric elevations.
This plans series includes ten oversized sheets.
