Description

An album demonstrating buildings throughout the county of Northumberland, by the Reavell and Cahill architectural practice, with two images attributable to the Phillipson Studios of Newcastle upon Tyne. The reverse of these album pages contain a stamp of the Philipson Studios and a unique image reference code, presumably specific to that companies records. The spine of the album is labelled "Industrial" and comprises 22 black and white images. The images depict a range of building types, including a swimming pool, medical surgery and working men's club.

The album is not extensively captioned, ensuring that the exact construction dates of the buildings are often unknown. A broad date range of between the 1950s and 1970s has been applied to the majority of images. The lack of captioning also ensures that there are indeterminate locations for a number of the images, including the Newcastle and Gateshead Water Company offices, the working men's club, the Pearl Assurance offices and the McLaren factory.

The album also contains 1 duplicate of an image found in album RAC01/01/02.
