This record was the subject of a minor enhancement on 19 January 2016. This record has been generated from an "old county number" (OCN) scheduling record. These are monuments that were not reviewed under the Monuments Protection Programme and are some of our oldest designation records.
This monument includes an enclosure forming part of a larger field system situated on a gentle south facing slope on Lower Down within a dry valley leading to the valley of the River Piddle or Trent. The enclosure survives as a roughly rectangular enclosed area defined by low scarps and there are faint traces of possible building platforms in the interior. The surrounding ditches are preserved as entirely buried features.
