Details

EDINGTON TINHEAD ROAD ST 95 SW (east side) 5/165 Shore House 11.9.68 GV II Detached house. Probably late C16, altered C17 and late C18 and C19. Rendered timber-framing, partly rebuilt in dressed limestone and brick, concrete tiled roof, brick stacks. Two-storey, 3- window front. Ground floor has two C19 canted bays with margin- pane casements, the left hand one is part of C17 two-storey bay with 4-light recessed hollow-chamfered mullioned casement to first floor, two C19 casements to jettied right part, gabled attic dormer. Right return has C20 recessed porch in English bond brick wall on moulded stone plinth, 2-light casement to right and C20 oriel window to first floor, C20 oculus to attic. Left return rebuilt in English bond brick with 3-light margin-pane casement to right, French windows to left and C19 and C20 casements to first floor, hipped dormer with 2-light casement. Rear has outshut to left and late C18 wing with 16-pane sash to right, C20 extension to centre, outbuilding to right has planked door. Interior partly inaccessible at time of survey (July 1986), but said to have open fireplaces with chamfered lintel on brick jambs, chamfered beams, former external dressed limestone wall exposed in kitchen.
