TIMBRELL STREET 1. 5411 (East Side) No 12 The Crown Inn ST 8558 5/64 29.12.50. II GV 2. Late C18 early C19. 3 storeys. Ashlar stone on projecting plinth. Strings at 1st and 2nd floor levels. Coved and moulded cornice. Parapet with balustrade panels over windows. Whole height angle strip pilasters, over which cornice is mitred. Slate roof. Glazing bar sash windows, wider at sides. 3 windows to upper floor, recessed reveals on 1st floor. 2 windows on ground floor with 3 centred arched heads, now obscured by piblic house fascia and outside shutters. Central 6 panel door in 3 centred arched opening, with fanlight of radiating and curved pattern, and painted stone doorcase of 3/4 engaged Doric columns and entablature, enriched with triglyph and diamond ornament, puilvinated frieze, coved cornice and 3 centred arched pediment with patera in tympanum. Side door to right. Ornate wrought iron projecting bracket for inn sign.

Nos 1 to 12 (consec) and street wall to south of No 1, form a group with Nos 14 to 16 (consec).
