Group of attached shops and houses. Late C19. Ashlar, Welsh slate
gabled roofs. Eccentric Victorian style. 2 storeys, 4 windows. No
23 has round-arched doorway with moulded case, imposts carved
classical face to keystone and egg-and dart ornament to arch,
pediment over on columns with Composite capitals. C19 shop front
has cast iron columnette with Composite capital. No 25 has C19
shop front with large columns with Composite capitals to sides. No
27 has square-headed cart-entry to left and C19 shop front to
right, with square columns with Composite capitals to sides and
cast-iron colonnette to central entrance. First floor of No 23 has
pair of round-arched windows with carved imposts, keystones of
carved classical faces and egg-and dart ornament to arches. Gabled
roof has coped verge and finial with kneelers on carved classical
heads. No 25 has canted bay with,Composite capitals to columns,
and balustraded parapet above. No 27 has single round-arched
window with same detail as No 23, and canted bay with same detail
as No 25, but no balustrade.
Interiors of shops are C20. Good example of eccentric style shops
with frontages intact.
