Details
CORSHAM CHURCH RISE, Neston ST 86 NE 3/27 Neston Primary School and The Old School House GV II
School and school-teacher's house, dated 1861, coursed rubble stone with slate roofs. School, to left, is long single storey range with west end ashlar bellcote. Flush chamfered and stopped mullion windows. West end has upper circular light and ground floor door in moulded pointed arch with 2-light window under relieving arch to right. South front has 3-light window, large eaves stack over lean-to with cusped light on south wall and pointed-arched doorway in east end, two 3-lights, large outside stack, 3-light and moulded pointed doorway. Later rear wing. Old School House, to right, is 'T'-plan, 2 storeys. Crosswing to left has stack on west roof slope and gable with upper sash under pointed relieving arch with patterned tympanum and ground floor sash and door under segmental relieving arch. Wing to right has ground floor sash with segmental relieving arch. All openings are chamfered and stopped with roll- moulded lintels.
