CORSHAM PICKWICK ST 86 70 (south side) 4/300 No. 6 (Pickwick House) 20.12.60 GV II

House, later C18, ashlar with stone tiled roof, hipped to north, half-hipped to south and rear wall stacks. Two storey and attic. Formal 3-bay west front with full-height canted bays each side of centre, moulded cornice and small centre pediment. Raised band and plinth. Eight-pane sashes throughout, one to first floor centre, 3 to each floor of bays. Central 6-panel door in Roman Doric pedimented doorcase. Slightly recessed return of north end to left with band, cornice and ground floor blank window. North end has band, cornice and one window range of 8-pane sashes. Parallel north-east rear wing, half-hipped to north, gabled to south. Band, cornice, paired 8-pane ground floor sashes, 2 first floor 8-pane sashes and attic window in gable. To right of main front, short length of wall with fine reused ashlar gateway in Gibbs surround with keystone and pediment, added c1980.
