HILMARTON CHURCH ROAD SU 07 NW (north side) 6/238 Hitchcock and Jefferys monuments in churchyard about 9m south of south-east angle of chancel of Church of St Laurence GV II Two chest tombs, later C18 and early C19, ashlar. From north: a) Hitchcock monument, plain slab sides with chamfered base and cap. Inscription to John Hitchcock, died 1776. b) Jefferys monument, with moulded base and cornice, fluting painted on frieze, baluster angles with painted fluting, and slab sides. North inscription to Stephen Jefferys died 1834.
