BIDDESTONE CHIPPENHAM LANE
ST 8673 Dovecote and Stable to south east of
9/10 Manor House
(formerly listed as outbuildings at
20.12.60 the Manor House)
GV II
Dovecote, C16 or C17, with stable range attached to south. Rubble
stone with stone tiled roof. Coped south gable with saddlestone.
Dovecote is square plan with recessed north wall of 20 tiers of
openings. Small Tudor arched doorway to west wall, modern east wall
opening.
Interior lined with nesting shelves. South end is 2 storey with
west side outside steps to loft, ground floor stable door and a C20
window to each floor. Lean-to on south wall. Converted barn (now
listed with Manor House), dovecote and Priest's House were formerly
listed as single item.
