COLERNE HIGH STREET ST 8171 (north side) 7/237 No 14 (Ashby House)

GV II

House, dated J. S. 1738 for J. Sumption, ashlar fronted rubble stone with Bridgwater tile roof, coped gables and end wall stacks. 3-storeys, regular 3-window facade with raised quoins, moulded cornices at floor levels and parapet. Chamfer-mullion windows in architrave surrounds, 2-light to second floor and first floor, ground floor originally 3-light each side of flush cyma-moulded doorcase with hood on brackets. Left side window has mullions removed for casements, right side window replaced by 15-pane early C19 window. To left a one storey and attic addition with coped west gable, 2-light cyma-moulded window and door in moulded flush doorcase. Interior: one reused bolection-moulded fireplace.
