3/267 Three Wells.
II
House. Early C17. Limestone rubble with stone slate roof. 2 storeys and attic, 2 bays with 1-storey and attic outbuilding to rear left. Entrance on left, C19 oak door in original stone doorcase and small spandrils. 3-light ovolo-moulded windows with continuous hollow string moulding. Leaded glazing. Two large attic gables with similar 2-light windows and string. Ashlar stack to right gable. Rear elevation similar. Main block continued left at lower level over outbuilding, converted to domestic use. Chamfered mullioned windows. Interior has deep chamfered ceiling beams with elaborate stops, and moulded stone fireplace to right gable, partly reset. Blades of roof trusses tenoned into large tie beams bearing on attic gable windows. Left wing has deep moulded ceiling beams interrupted by later stack.
