BEDWIN STREET 1. 1594 (South Side) Nos 26 & 28 SU 1430 SE 2/228

II GV 2. Early Cl9 pair of houses. 3 storeys red brick. Low pitch gable end slate roof with projecting flat eaves. One window each floor (new tripartite sash to 2nd floor No 28), recessed sashes, most of glazing bars intact. No 28 has a large canted bay on 1st floor with moulded cornice and panelled apron. Recessed doors, that of No 28 modernised, No 26 of 6 panels, Both have reeded surrounds with corner blocks and small flat hoods. Some of the bricks on the front bear the bricmaker's name: "Harding."

Frowd's Almshouses, Nos 26 to 34 (even) and Taylor's Almshouses form a group.
