SU 1429 NW 3/51 28.2.52. 1I* GV 2. C18 front and rebuilding of much older house. 3 storey. Brick-on projecting stone plinth. Painted bands at 1st and 2nd floor levels. Chamfered stone quotas, and small moulded and bracketed stone cornice with brick parapet, stone coping, swept up at angles. Old tile roof. 5 windows (square on 2nd floor) to upper floors. 4 windows on ground floor. All windows have keystones. 8-panel central door with rectangular fanlight of delicate oval pattern enriched with lead ornaments. Reeded doorhead carried across panelled reveals with architrave surround. Doorcase of semi-engaged reeded (plain base) columns, with enriched frieze, broken forward over columns with rosette ornament, and central urn and swag and scroll foliage ornament. Small flat moulded cornice. Good knocker (probably Italian) intertwined dolphins. Side walls tile hung with mathematical tiles on timber framing. The back part of the house has some C16-17 panelling. Some C18 panelling and stucco work inside. Stable yard to east with late C18 2 storey L plan service wing and screen wall on east side linking coach house which has C18 timber framing in gable, loft hatch and double doors.

All the listed buildings in the Close form an oustanding group.
