THE CLOSE 1. 1594 - No 32 28.2.52. No 33 SU 1429 NW 3/32 II* GV
2. C18 recasing of earlier buildings. Probably 2 or 3 houses originally 2 storeys and attic and one storey and attic. Partly colourwashed brick. Old tile roof half hipped at north end. North front has large canted bay window with tiled pent roof on 1st floor, sash lights glazing bars intact and smaller canted bay underneath with casement lights. The east front has 2 dormers. 3 windows lst floor, small canted bay window and one window on ground floor, sashes, glazing bars intact. Plain door. South front has a 2 storey painted brick elevation with hipped old tile roof, 1 hipped dormer with leaded casement. Superimposed canted bay windows flanking front with small moulded cornices and panelled aprons, sash lights glazing bars intact. Central 2 light casement on lst floor and central panelled door below, in architrave surround with plain frieze and cornice. Link block of one storey and attic with hipped dormer, lead casements and 3 light casement ground floor. 2 storey red brick modern west wing, tile hung 1st floor, dormers and mullioned casements. Picturesque group. Site of Our Lady's Well.
