Statue on pedestal. at NGR 1610 2717. C18. Unknown sculptor. Limestone. Square plinth and pedestal. Three steps up to plinth supporting pedestal. Each face of pedestal has circular panel with egg-and-dart ornament, set in cyma-moulded square panel. Plaques have carved relief scenes depicting Britannia seated or standing, with coastal scenery and Latin inscriptions. A finely carved slightly less than life-size statue of Diana stands on pedestal, holding a shield with a classical male head in relief. Occupies a prominent position in the park, overlooking Longford Castle to the south east.
