ALCESTER MALT MILL LANE SP0857 (West side) 4/109 Nos. 5 and 7 11/12/69 (Formerly listed as No.1)

GV II*

House. Mid C16, altered and restored c.1972-1975. Timber framed: close studding with plaster infill, on stone base. Tile roof; no chimneys. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys. 3 bays. Late C20 door and glazed panel, recessed behind original doorway with chamfered 4-centred arch. Late C20 windows, mostly casement, but canted bay on right has sashes. Ground floor windows have external shutters. Jettied first floor supported on brackets on moulded posts; part of one original moulded post survives on left. Left gable end has square framing. To rear close studding with 2 diagonal braces on ground floor, but not jettied. Paired recessed late C20 doors. Interior not inspected.
