SP05NE ARROW 2/2 Cold Comfort Farmhouse 01/02/67 (Formerly listed as Arrow Farmhouse) GV II Farmhouse. C17; refacing and additions early/mid C19. Timber framed with whitewashed brick infill, and whitewashed brick. Old tile roof, slate roof to additions. Brick ridge, lateral and internal chimneys. Probably originally L-plan, extended to three-span; through passage, possibly formed during remodelling. Front appears entirely C19. 2 storeys, 3-window range, with high single storey single-window wing to left, of 2 builds. Entrance in middle bay has half-glazed, 4-panelled door with overlight and simple chamfered wood porch with flat roof. Mid/late C19 wood casements under shallow segmental arches. Wider left bay is refronting of end of timber framed range: cross gable has ends of old purlins visible. Ground floor is slightly recessed beneath a whitewashed beam. Left return side has single storey wing on right one storey and attic timber framed wing with small outshut on left projecting forward. Exposed framing to centre and gable. C19 casements and open verandah. Rear has substantial exposed framing to end of C17 range; small sections rebuilt in brick. Taller C19 range on left. Garden front entirely early/mid C19, with 3 low-pitched gables. Interior noted as having large ceiling beams.
