Hand crane on Redcliffe Wharf
GV II
Hand crane. C19. Cast-iron and timber. A rotating hand crane
with gears in a cast-iron frame, and an octagonal boom with
steel bracing. The Floating Harbour was served by small hand
cranes of this type for much of its commercial life, of which
few survive.
