Details

TYNEMOUTH CAMP TERRACE (north side) NZ 36 NE and NZ 3568 NW North Shields 8/47 and 11/47 Nos 1, 2 3, 4 and terrace 24.10.50 in front. G.V. II 4 houses and terrace. Circa 1800. English garden wall bond brick with ashlar dressings; roll-moulded coping to painted incised rendered plinth; Welsh slate roof. Sandstone flags and cobbles in terrace. Houses: 2 storeys; no. 4 has 5 bays, the others 3. Each house has central 6-panelled door under fanlight in broken-pedimented Tuscan doorcase. Wedge stone lintels to sash windows with glazing bars (of late C.19 type in No. 2) except for stop-chamfered stone lintel and projecting stone sill to tripartite sash in no. 3, and 4-and 2-light casements flanking door of no. 1. Sill bands; moulded eaves gutter board to nos 2, 3 and 4; modillioned eaves gutter board to no. 1. Hipped roof has 5 ashlar-corniced brick ridge chimneys. Cast iron footscaper to right of step to no. 4. Terrace in front: square sandstone flags and irregular cobbles.
