TYNEMOUTH BATH TERRACE, (north side) NZ 3669 SE Tynemouth 9/39 Nos 1-11 consecutive including 6a, 7a and lla. G.V. II Terrace of 11 houses, now 14 separate dwellings. Circa 1830. English bond brick with sandstone ashlar dressings and basements, some rendered. Welsh slate roof. Basement and 3 storeys; some attics. No. 2 has 4 bays, no.11 and lla has 2 bays; remaining houses have 3 bays. Central 5-panelled door to no. 1; 3-over-3 panelled door to no. 2 and 4-panelled to other houses, all in third bay. Overlights above all doors in architraves. Sash windows, with glazing bars to no. 2 and some of no. 4, have wedge stone lintels and projecting stone sills; some casements in nos.3, 8 and 10. Some C20 windows in remaining houses. Inserted projecting bay windows to nos.l, 5, 7 and 8. Severe alterations to first floor window of no. 10. Bands at first floor level and at eaves/lintels of second floor windows. Nos 1 and 2 have 2 corniced end brick chimneys each; remaining houses have brick chimneys at left. Later dormers to several houses. Cast iron balconies to full width of nos 2, 3, 6 and 6a, 9; and to each first floor window of no. 11 and lla; inserted timber balcony to no. 7. Some original handrails to flights of steps to doors. No. l0 included partly for group value.
