Details
TQ 3426 LINDFIELD HIGH STREET (west side) 6/172 No 117 (Seckham's House) 6.4.70 GV II House. Probable late C16 timber-framed building refronted in early C19. East elevation is of painted brick on brick plinth on ground floor and the 1st and 2nd storeys are stuccoed, the south elevation has exposed square framing to the ground floor and is hung with curved tiles above; roof of Horsham stone slate tiles with central brick chimney stack. 3 storeys; 2:4:3 windows. 2nd floor windows are sliding casements. 1st floor windows are 16 pane sashes in moulded architraves, some horned and the ground floor windows are 16 pane sashes set in cambered arches. Off central doorcase with flat wooden hood on brackets, pilasters and 4 panelled door. Cast iron Inn sign bracket. Rear has C19 brick and tiled extensions with slate roof.
