Farmhouse. Core is an early C17 2 bay lobby entrance house running east to west
which is sandwiched in early C19 extensions with mainly C20 windows and a C20
extension in matching materials to north east. Exterior of clunch with red
brick dressings stringcourse, quoins and dentilled eaves cornice, except for
south front where the 1st floor has been tile hung in c1955. Hipped modern
tiled roof with 2 brick chimneystacks to old post. 2 storeys. Front elevation
has 3 windows which are C20 enlarged metal framed casements. Later C19 church
and brick gabled weatherporch. North front retains some C19 casements.
Interior has front room to left of porch with early C17 massive moulded spine
beam with lambs tongue stop with 2 cuts before the stop (most unusual), an early
C19 6 panelled door and a rear room with spine beam having 2 inch chamfer with
roll moulding and run out stop and floor joists with lambs tongue stops. Roof
structure of early C17 wing considered to be of earlier type than the rest but
not inspected. C20 wing to north east not of special interest.
