STOUGHTON RACTON SU 70 NE 11/308 The Racton Monunent (Formerly listed as Racton 5.6.58 Folly)

A folly or landmark, now in ruins, which was built by Lord Halifax between 1766 and 1775 Architect Theodosius Kelne. Built of red brick, originally faced with flints, most of which has disappeared. Triangular base with a small round turret at each angle, originally taller than now. Tall central circular tower of four storeys.
