1. 972 CANON LANE ---------- The Chantry SU 8504 NE 3/270
II 5.7.50.
2. C13 building altered and added to in the C15-C18. (See Victoria County History). A modern wing to the east. The walls are of flint with stone quoins. The north front facing Canon Lane has a C15 or C16 archway and a large window of trefoiled ogee-headed lights and semi-quatrefoil in a square head, said to have been brought here from Halnaker House. Part of the window has been filled in with masonry. Another window of the same date consisting of a cinquefoil in a square head is to the east.
