HIGH STREET 1. 5401 (North Side) ----------- Manora and Valhalla SZ 9399 SE 4/7 22.7.49. II 2. Originally called Russell Place. 2 early C19 houses not quite a pair. Each consists of 2 parts: an outer wing of 3 storeys and 1 window and an inner wing set back of 2 storeys and respectively 1 window and 2 windows. Cornice and parapet surmounting both sections of each house. The outer wings have 3-light curved bay windows on all floors and an iron balcony with hood on 1st floor. Glazing bars intact except on the ground and 1st floors of the outer wing of Manora, Valhalla has a small castellated porch in the angle of its 2 wings with a pointed fanlight. Manora has a castellated projection thrown out on the ground floor for the whole length of its inner wing, and a bay window and modern porch with shaped gable added south of this.
