6.10.89 Well-house approx. 50 metres south of Bocketts Farmhouse, with attached farmyard walls
GV II
Well-house and attached farmyard walls. c.1800. The well-house, which is of red brick with a red tile roof, is a square single cell with a low doorway at the north corner of the east side, an unglazed horizontal rectangular window in the centre of the south side, and a steeply-pitched pyramidal roof with a gableted apex. Interior: well in centre protected by circular brick wall, with wooden cover (damaged). Attached to the rear is the brick wall of the south side of the farmyard, which continues round the west and north sides also. The well-house is an attractive feature beside the entrance track round the south side of this site, and a valuable element of an unusually complete group of farm buildings.
