Details
BETCHWORTH C.P. CHURCH STREET TQ 24NW 6/3 Nos 1 to 3 Church Street II
House, extended and divided. C16 with C17 extensions. Timber framed, exposed on first floor left, with whitewashed brick infilling over whitewashed brick cladding on ground floor. Brick cladding to centre and right, weatherboarded on left. Plain tiled roofs stepping down from gable to centre range and again to right. Originally T-plan with gabled cross wing to left and further extensions to ends. Two storeys to gable, single storey and attics to right and centre under one hipped-roof, casement dormer & two gabled dormers. Corbelled multiple stacks at junction of roofs to right of centre, C20 stack to left side of wing. One window on each floor of gable, two ground floor windows to centre/ right. One C19,glazing-bar sash window to left hand extension. Half-glazed C19 door under transome light and gabled hood to left. (No. 1). Door of six panels to left and further door to right with flanking light (No. 3). Interior:- deep fireplace. Crown-post roof to centre. No. 3 undergoing thorough restoration at time of resurvey.
