3/140 Tomb of Count and Countess de Morella approximately 45 metres to north east of north transept of Christ Church

Memorial. Early C20. Commemorates Ramon Cabrera, Count de Morella, Marquis del Ter d. 1877 and his wife Marianne Catherine, d. 1915. Polished grey granite. Tall plain cross mounted on 4-step podium, the top step with relief carving of Roman- style tools of war (helmet, sword, spear, shield, laurel wreath). Face of top step has raised border and inscription commemorating Ramon Cabrera and the step below an inscription commemorating his wife. Cabrera was a Carlist general in the Civil Wars in Spain 1836-43. He was ennobled by the pretender, Carlos V, and praised by the Duke of Wellington for his military prowess.
