School. 1855 by Henry Woodyer. Sandstone rubble with brick quoins and
dressings and plain tiled roofs. Two storeys in gable end to right and
one storey to centre and left. Gabled wings projecting to ends with
brick string courses. One casement window to first floor right in pointed
arched surround with brick infill over the window, one casement below.
One full height cambered head casement window to left end and three half
hipped through eaves dormers to centre. Buttresses flanking central
window. Left hand window extended downwards in C20. Two diagonal stacks
to left of right hand cross wing. Arched door in deep recessed porch.
with arched chamfered brick-edged entrance placed in re-entrant angle
with right hand cross wing. Steep narrow gable above containing bell.
Left hand return front (facing Tillingbourne Road): six through-eaves,
half-hipped, dormers. Central taller gabled bay with tile hung gable and
two windows flanking buttresses. Two buttresses either side. Gabled
wing to left end projecting with large end casement. Chimney in re-
entrant angle.
