Hall house now divided. C15 with C16 alterations, C17 cross wing to left, remodelled in C18 and C19. Timber framed clad in red and bluebrickwith plain tiled roof, half hipped to right. End stack to right, ridge stack to right of centre, stacks left and rear left. 2 storeys, 2 framed bays to right with 3 framed bay gable front cross wing to left. Brick plat band over ground floor, 4 leaded casement windows across first floor, plain casements in first floor of cross wing. Planked door to right of centre, part glazed under flat porch hood on brackets. (No. 56 Beam Cottage); 6 panel door to left of centre (No. 58 Oak Cottage). Glazed door to No. 60 (Forge House on the left hand return front. Exposed framing to rear.
Interior: fine stop-chamfered ceiling frame to ground floor of Beam Cottage, foliage carved dais beam transferred to form wooden lintel of deep brick fireplace. C17 corbel carving to main beam. Moulded Crown-post in roof.
